Address by Audrey Azoulay, the Director-General of UNESCO, on the occasion of the G20 Ministers of Culture Meeting
Mister President,
Dear Ministers of the G20,
Excellencies,
Dear friends,
First let me tell you what an honour it is to be joining you in a place as fabulous as the Colosseum, inscribed on the UNESCO list of World Heritage, which is so dear to all of us. With this G20 meeting, organized at the initiative of Italy, we are all reinforcing a commitment to make culture central to public policies in one of the main forums for international cooperation, building on the momentum initiated by Italy at the G7 meeting in Firenze, dear Dario, and the work carried out by the Saudi Presidency of the G20 last year.
